Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effects of high dose radiotherapy combined with osteoclast inhibitors on pain caused by osseous metastasis. Methods 550 malignant tumor patients were divided into treatment group(n=300) and control group(n=250).Treatment group was given high dose radiotherapy combined with osteoclast inhibitors. The control group was only received osteoclast inhibitors or else drugs. Results The efficiency of partial response plus complete response was significantly higher in treatmen group than those in control group (75.6% vs 39.60%, P<0.05). And the long-term response rate was also better than that in control group (85.6% vs 48.8%, P<0.05). Conclusions High dose radiotherapy combined with osteoclast inhibitors has good short and long-term clinical efficacy for pain caused by osseous metastasis.
