Abstract Objective To observe the effect of WY14643 on vascular endothelium in rats with hypertension. Methods We selected spontaneous hypertensive rats(SHR) of 38-42 weeks, isolated the aorta and bathed it in 10 ml tissue bath. We randomly divided them into 2 groups: rats of SHR group was just treated with distilled water as control group, 10 rats of WY14643 group was only treated with WY14643 as intervention group.The liquid in bath was collected to detect the changes of vasodilator and eNOS in vascular tissue. Results NO and PGI2(prostacyclin) levels and eNOS(nitric oxide synthase) expression were significantly increased after WY14643 treatment.There was a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) between the two groups. Conclusions WY14643 plays a protective role on vascular endothelium in rats with hypertension.
