Analysis of mycoplasma pneumoniae IgM antibody in children with respiratory tract infection |

Abstract Objective To study the correlation between the positive rate of mycoplasma pneumonia with gender, age, the season and year in children with respiratory tract infection in order to provide reference for prevention and clinical treatment.Methods 3011 serum samples detected with MP-IgM antibody between 2013 and 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The relationship between the positive rate of MP-IgM antibody and gender, age, the season and year was studied.Results The positive rate of MP-IgM antibody was 19.53% among male children, and 26.76% among female children. There was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). There was statistically significant difference in the positive rate of MP-IgM antibody between different age groups and season groups(P<0.05). The 3~<6 years group and the first season group had the highest positive rates. The positive rate of MP-IgM antibody in 2013, 2014 and 2015 was 32.99%,20.20%,and 11.21% respectively, and the difference was of statistical significance (P<0.01).Conclusions Mycoplasma pneumonia infection is related to gender,age,seasons and years. In the first season,female children aged three to six should be taken good care of.
