Clinical efficacy of low temperature plasma ablation for conjunctiva vascular malformation patients |

Abstract Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation with the low-temperature plasma knife in the treatment of conjunctiva vascular malformations. Methods The clinical data of 35 patients with conjunctiva vascular malformations who underwent plasma ablation in our hospital between May 2011 to July 2018 was retrospectively analyzed.All these cases were closely followed up for information on their scope of lesions, vision,complications and recurrence. Results All the patients were followed up for more than one year.The surface of surgical wounds was smooth,without any foreign body sensation or vision loss. There was no recurrence. The curative and effective rate of the thirty-five patients was 100% (of which the curative rate was 71.4%, and the effective rate was 28.6%).The average duration of surgery was 13.44 min.Blepharosphere adhesion was found in one case 3 months after operation, while eyelashes were not born and skin scars on the eyelid margin appeared in another case 3 months after operation. Conclusions Conjunctiva vascular malformations can be treated with low-temperature plasma surgery, which is fast, safe and effective.
