Abstract Objective To explore the gynaecological outpatients'amount of knowledge of cervical cancer screening and the correlated influencing factors. Methods A total of 840 cases of gynaecological outpatients were investigated via a questionnaire. Their amount of knowledge of cervical cancer screening was analyzed, and the factors that influenced their amount of the related knowledge were separately screened by χ2 test and by the multiple Logistic regression method. Results The awareness rate of cervical cancer screening among these 840 cases was 52.38% (440/840). These patients'level of knowledge of cervical cancer screening depended on their education level (OR=2.022, 95%CI 1.251-3.268), family history of gynecologic oncology (OR=2.918, 95%CI 1.689-5.042), history of cervical cancer screening (OR=4.031, 95%CI 2.124-7.652), community-offered education on cervical cancer and breast cancer (OR=5.043, 95%CI 2.757-9.223), availability of reproductive health information (OR=3.337, 95%CI 1.482-7.512) and social support level (OR=2.593, 95%CI 1.291-5.211). Conclusions The awareness rate of cervical cancer screening among gynecological outpatients remains low, and there are many influencing factors. Targeted strategies and measures should be adopted to improve women's knowledge of cervical cancer screening and reduce the incidence of cervical cancer.
