CT imaging technology of artificial pneumoperitoneum and applications |

Abstract Objective Objective To explore the operation methods and essential technology of artificial pneumoperitoneum CT in order to provide reference for standardized applications. Methods A total of 331 patients who underwent artificial pneumoperitoneum CT angiography between January 1, 2013 and November 1, 2019 were collected. All of them underwent standardized artificial pneumoperitoneum angiography of the abdomen in the horizontal position, left and right lateral position, and prone position within CT thin layer scan and 3D reconstruction. Results The relationship between abdominal organs and the peritoneum was clearly shown in each of the 331 cases. According to results of imaging diagnosis, 43 cases were normal and 288 were abnormal. Based on postoperative results, 28 were normal and 303 were abnormal. Kappa consistency test showed that the imaging diagnosis of the CT scan of artificial pneumoperitoneum was quite consistent with surgical results (kappa=0.765, P<0.05). Conclusions The technology of artificial pneumoperitoneum CT is safe, reliable, and practical. Proficiency can lead to good imaging results. This technology can provide useful imaging data for the diagnosis of intra-abdominal diseases, especially intra-abdominal adhesions.
