Abstract:Objective To analyze the related factors of infective complication in patients with digestive diseases carrying peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and provide reference for nursing and prevention of complication in PICC. Methods Clinical data of 142 patinets with digestive diseases on PICC were enrolled, and sex, age, primary diseases, puncturing methods, puncturing site, nursing frequency of catheter, punctured blood vessel, presence of or no complicated angiocardiopathy and diabetes mellitus were recorded, related factors of infective complication in PICC were analyzed by single factor method, influencing factors of infective complication in PICC were analyzed by Logistic regression method. Results Infective complication incidence rate was 18.3%,puncturing methods, puncturing site, nursing frequency of catheter and presence or no complicated angiocardiopathy were related factors of infective complication in PICC; complicated angiocardiopathy and lower nursing frequency were risk factors of infective complication in PICC,and puncturing site of higher elbow joint was protective factor of infective complication in PICC. Conclusions Infective complication in PICC is correlative with puncturing position, nursing frequency and medical complication. Directed nursing intervention should be taken to decrease infective complication in PICC.
