Abstract:Objective To investigate the ultrasonographic features of ovarian tumor and clinical data of the postmenopausal women. Methods The features of ultrasonography and clinical data of 130 postmenopausal woman patceuts with ovarian tumor were retrospectively analyzed. Results A total of 94 cases of benign tumor were observed (72.3%) and malignant tumors were in 36 cases (27.7%). The malignant rate of bilateral lesions was higher than that of unilateral lesions; the malignant rate of unilateral ovarian tumor with the maximum diameter > 10 cm was higher than that of unilateral ovarian tumor with the maximum diameter≤10 cm. Polyseptations in solid masses failed to help differentiate benign masses from malignant masses. The malignant rate of ascites was higher than that without ascites. In 104 cases the results of ultrasonography were consistent with pathological findings. The accurate rate of ultrasonography was 80%. Conclusions The ultrasonographic features are important basis to identify the nature of the tumor. Ovarian serous cystadenoma, teratoma and endometriosis in the postmenopausal women are diagnosed with higher accurate rates than those in the premenopausal women. The accurate rates of diagnosis for the rare ovarian tumor need to be futher improved.
