Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of calcipotriol betamethasone ointment in treating palm-sole keratinizing eczema. Methods A controlled study was conducted and two groups of patients were randomly selected. The test group received calcipotriol betamethasone ointment (once a day), while the control group received halometasone ointment (twice a day). Both groups were treated for 6 weeks and followed up for two months. The patients’ recurrence rates were observed. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (77.8% vs 57.7%, P<0.05), while the recurrent rate of the treatment group was significantly lower than of the control group (14.8% vs 36.5%, P<0.05). Conclusion Calcipotriol betamethasone ointment is effective in treating palm-sole keratinizing eczema, and produces lower recurrence rate.
