Abstract：Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of montelukast combined with ketotifen in treating cough after common cold. Methods A total of 216 patients were randomly divided into two groups: 108 patients in study group were treated with montelukast combined with ketotifen and compound glycyrrhiza oral solution; 108 patients in control group were treated with and compound glycyrrhiza oral solution alone. The effective rates, cough time, and side effects were compared. Results The effective rate in study group was 90.7%, and 66.7% in control group. The cough remission time was (3?1.57) days in study group, and (5?2.36) days in control group. The side effects were trivial in two groups. Conclusion Montelukast combined with ketotifen is effective and safe to treat cough after common, and can be used widely.
