Site of anomic aphasia after stroke and language rehabilitation

Abstract:Objective To observe and evaluate the site of anomic aphasia after stroke and language rehabilitation. Methods Totally 93 patients admitted to the Department of Neurology, Chuiyangliu Hospital for aphasia after stroke between January 2011 and July 2012 were enrolled in this study, including 9 cases of anomic aphasia. The language rehabilitation of six patients of anomic aphasia was followed up for 1, 2, 4, 6 month. The evaluation was performed using the WAB. The aphasia quotient (AQ) was used to evaluate the language rehabilitation. Results The diseased regions of anomic aphasia were not only in the left side temporal-occipital border area, left basal ganglion and left temporal lobe, but also in the left corona radiata. The anomic aphasia was serious to a lesser degree. Patients recovered obviously in the second month. Conclusions The lesion locations of anomic aphasia are diverse. The patients with anomic aphasia have a good recovery.
