Analysis of research hotspots of medicine and health care based on paper-download frenquencies

Abstract:Objective To find the research hotspots in the field of medicine and health care in nearly 3 years, to provide valuable information for health management and health policy makers. Methods All kinds of paperspublished in “medical technology” category of CNKI database whichwere retrieve. Papers download frequencies more than 600 times were analysed by visualized analytical toolTDA. Results During 2012-13, cancer research,the evidence-based medicine treatment and treatment guidelines of diabetes-cardiovascular disease-hypertension,the doctor-patient relationship, the New Rural CooperativeMedical Insurance were the top 5 most popular regions. Related research of traditional Chinese medicine also occupied a large proportion among the hottest papers. The various National funding papers (including the National Natural Science Funds, Science and Technology Support Plan, 863, 973, the Key Basic Research Development Plan, Major Drug Discovery, etc.) accounted for 26.17%. Conclusions Contens of the hottest papers are closely linked to national economy and the people’s livelihood. There is a strong demand for high quality of clinical treatment guidelines.
