Abstract:Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of constant weak magnetic field stimulating acupoints of head for insomnia. Methods 90 patients with insomnia were randomly divided into the control group, the blank group and the treatment group, 30 cases in each group. The patients in the control group was treated with diazepam tablets, the blank group was stimulated with nonmagnetic paster, and the treatment group was given weak magnetic paster stimulating acupoints of head. After one course of treatment (10 days), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score and total effective rate were compared before and after treatment between the three groups. Results Constant weak magnetic field could effectively reduce PSQI scoresin the patients, much lower than in the blank group (P<0.05). The total effective ratesin the treatment group, the control group and the blank group were 86.21%, 78.57% and 44.83%,respeectively the treat group was obviously better than the blank group(P<0.05); Although there was no significant difference on PSQI score and the total effective rate between the treatment group and the control group, no side effect was found in the treatment group. Conclusions Constant weak magnetic field stimulating acupoints of head has distinct curative effect on insomnia.
