Abstract:Objective To provide the proof for the fast, accurate delineation of esophageal carcinoma GTV length by measuring the GTV-T length differences detected by CT and barium meal. Methods 60 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma undergoing radical radiation therapy, swallowed barium and took a fluoroscopy;while the upper and lower bounds of lesions determined, which were marked and fixed on the skin. The same posture was located according to the CT simulation.One-Way ANOVA analysis of variance was used for statistical analysis. Results The length of esophageal carcinoma from high to low in order for the CT scan length, X-ray and endoscope length, there was significant difference in GTV-T length among the three methods(P<0.05).Conclusions Referring to esophagoscopic results, the GTV length of esophageal carcinoma can be quickly determined by CT and barium meal.
