Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of different blood purification modes on homocysteine clearance in patients with maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).Methods A total of one hundred and twenty patients were randomly divided into hemodialysis group, hemodialysis filtration group, high-flux dialysis group, and high-flux dialysis + hemoperfusion group, with 30 patients in each group.Six months after treatment, homocysteine levels were measured in each group. Results The levels of Hcy remained unchanged in hemodialysis group, and decreased significantly in the other three groups, especially in high-flux hemodialysis + hemoperfusion group (P<0.05).Conclusions Hyperventilation and hemoperfusion can significantly reduce Hcy levels, prevent cardiovascular events and improve the quality of life in uremic patients.
