Abstract:Objective To study factors that influence the detection with color Doppler ultrasound related to lower extremity deep venous thrombosis in non operative patients with hip joint disease. Methods Betweem January 2016 and December 2017, 96 cases (positive group) of DVT were detected with color Doppler ultrasonography in lower extremities of patients with hip diseases who were treated non-surgically in Beiya Hospital. Another 246 patients without DVT were selected as control group. Information on the sex, age, course of disease, body mass index (BMI), serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (CHOL), D-dimer, varicose veins of lower extremities, clinical symptoms of DVT, chronic diseases (hypertension or diabetes), and types of hip disease of these patients was collected. Chi square test and Logistic regression analysis were used. Results Univariate analysis showed that age, BMI, CHOL, TG, D-dimer, varicose veins of lower extremities and clinical symptoms were the main factors that influenced DVT detection. Multivariate analysis showed that the main factors were age (OR 3.235, 95% CI 1.203-10.326), D-dimer (OR 2.421, 95% CI 1.358-6.532), TG (OR 3.865, 95% CI 1.685-12.569), varicose veins (OR 3.526, 95% CI 1.432-11.003), and clinical symptoms (OR 5.234, 95% CI 3-19.243).Conclusions When patients with hip joint diseases treated non-surgically develop clinical symptoms and varicose veins of lower extremities, or are over 65, or with TG above 1.7 mmol/L and D-dimer above 300 ng/ml, the detection rate of DVT by color Doppler ultrasound is the highest.
