Abstract:Objective To study the effects of self-made Qutan Tongfu Huayu Prescription on hemorheology and serum levels of ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrophenol-1 (UCH-L1), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with cerebral infarction in the convalescent stage (phlegm-heat stagnation syndrome). Methods A total of 84 patients with cerebral infarction in the convalescent stage (phlegm-heat-stasis syndrome) admitted to our hospital between March 2017 and March 2018 were selected and randomly were divided into the observation group and control group. The control group was received routine treatment, while the observation group was additionally treated with self-made Qutan Tongfu Huayu Prescription. Changes related to the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Barthel Index (BI), blood lipid, and hemorheology were observed before and after treatment. The levels of UCH-L1, NSE, and VEGF in serum were detected. Results After treatment, the NIHSS, BI score and blood lipid improvement of the observation group were better than those of the control group, and the difference was of statistical significance (P<0.05). After treatment, the plasma viscosity[(0.81±0.22)mpa·s], whole blood high shear viscosity[(4.31±0.54)mpa·s], whole blood low shear viscosity[(10.17±1.26)mpa·s], whole blood reduced viscosity [(11.16±1.52)mpa·s] and platelet aggregation index (53.73±5.81) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group[(1.37±0.25),(6.43±1.29),(12.05±1.37),(15.38±1.78)mpa·s,(65.81±6.74)], and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the average cerebral blood flow perfusion velocity[(45.27±4.93)cm/s] and the peak systolic flow velocity[(73.45±7.92)cm/s]of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group[(37.49±3.95),(63.73±6.84)cm/s]. The resistance index was (0.61±0.07), which was significantly lower than that of the control group (0.74±0.08), so the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum UCH-L1[(134.82±14.57)pg/ml] and NSE[(12.35±1.52)μg/L]in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group[(193.41±20.52)pg/ml,(16.51±1.93)μg/L]. The serum vascular endothelial growth factor level was[(381.57±41.82)pg/ml], which was significantly higher than that in the control group[(312.43±34.62)pg/ml], so the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusions The self-made Qutan Tongfu Huayu Prescription can significantly improve blood lipid and hemorheology of patients with cerebral infarction in the convalescent stage, increase cerebral blood flow, promote the recovery of nerve function, and improve daily productivity, which is a feasible treatment.
