Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of serum levels of alpha fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), serum ferritin (SF) and β2-microglobulin (β2-MG) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and hypertension. Methods From among the military outpatients who had visited Beijing Municipal Corps Hospital of Chinese People’s Armed Police Force between February 2017 and March 2019, 40 CHD patients (CHD group), 40 with hypertension (HTN group), and 40 with both CHD and hypertension (CHD and HTN group) were selected as the subjects, while another 40 healthy people served as the control group. The fasting venous blood of the four groups was tested. The levels of serum AFP, CEA, SF and β2-MG in the four groups were detected and compared. The positive detection rates of serum SF and β2-MG in the CHD group, HTN group and CHD and HTN group were recorded. Results There was no statistically significant difference in levels of AFP or CEA between the three groups and the control group (P>0.05). However, there was statistically significant difference in levels of β2-MG and SF between the HTN group [(3.60±1.83)ng/mL, (202.96±99.06)ng/mL], CHD group [(3.41±1.31)ng/mL, (200.84±103.29)ng/mL], CHD and HTN group [(3.63±1.82)ng/mL, (207.43±104.89)ng/mL]and the control group [(2.16±0.51)ng/mL, (114.66±74.31)ng/mL] (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the positive detection rate of serum β2-MG or SF between the HTN group, CHD group and CHD and HTN group(P>0.05).Conclusions The levels of CEA and AFP remain unchanged in patients with HTN, CHD and CHD and HTN. β2-MG and SF participate in the physiological and pathological processes of HTN, CHD and CHD and HTN so that β2-MG and SF can be used as indexes for clinical diagnosis of prognosis and efficacy.
