Abstract:Objective To investigate the pharmaceutical care demands of convalescents of different types and age groups. Methods Six hundred and fourteen convalescents in Yantai Special Service Center of People's Armed Police Force were selected as the survey objects. The data were collected by questionnaires and face-to-face communication, and one-way variance method was used to analyze the differences of drug service demands in convalescents of different types. Results There were 183 convalescents in special service, 35 in special project, 208 in general health-care and 188 in military dependents in the survey. The prevalence of chronic diseases was 34.20%, among which cardiovascular system diseases (32.74%) and sports training injuries (25.00%) were the main disease of general health-care members and special service members respectively. In addition, it was found that 86.00% of convalescents needed popularization of rational drug use, and 77.70% of convalescents members needed instruction of pharmacists. In the survey of pharmaceutical care, convalescents preferred direct and simple methods, such as face-to-face communication between pharmacists and patients (57.98%), network or new media platform (53.91%), manual books and other paper materials (53.42%), etc. Conclusions Convalescents of different categories and age groups have different demands for drug service, and most convalescents need popularization of rational drug use and drug guidance. Targeted education on rational drug use should be conducted according to the characteristics of the population.
