Abstract Objective To study the feasibility of calcium dibutyryladenosine cyclophosphate being used to prevent intra-operative high blood pressure caused by cervical plexus block(CPB). MethodsEighty patients, ASAⅠorⅡ, aged 40 to 70 and scheduled for thyroma resection, were randomly divided into observation group and control group of 40 patients each. 0.375% ropivacaine 30 ml CPB was used in both groups. In the observation group 40 mg calcium dibutyryladenosine cyclophosphate was added into Ringer lactated solution 500 ml at an infusion rate of 8 ml /(kg·h) while in the control group only Ringer lactated solution was infused at the same rate. The blood pressure and heart rate changes were observed. ResultsIn the two groups, the incidence of intra-operative high blood pressure was 2.5% (observation group) and 95% (control group), and that of tachycardia was 5% (observation group) and 90% (control group), respectively. There was statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01) Conclusions Calcium dibutyryladenosine cyclophosphate effectively prevents intra-operative high blood pressure and tachycardia caused by CPB.
