Short-term clinical efficacy of levothyroxine combined with low-dose creatine phosphate in treatment of heart disease patients with hypothyroidism |

Abstract Objective To study the short-term clinical efficacy of levothyroxine combined with low-dose creatine phosphate in heart disease patients with hypothyroidism. Methods Twenty-six patients were divided into two groups randomly:control group of (n=12) was given levothyroxine for 30 days; observation group (n=13) was given levothyroxine for 30 days combined with low-dose creatine phosphate for 10 days. Before and after 30 days’ treatment,left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVDd),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),stroke volume(SV) measured by echocardiography were observed.Blood samples were collected to measure the plasma concentrations of creatine kinase(CK),creatine kinase-MB(CK-MB) and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH). Results After 30 days treatment, CK,CK-MB,LDH were significantly decreased in the both groups(P<0.05),but no difference was found in HR.There were significant differences in CK,CK-MB,LDH between the two groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In the observation group,there were significant differences in SV,LVEF,LVDd (P<0.05) after treatment,whereas no difference in the control group and between the two groups. Conclutions Levothyroxine combined with short-term low-dose creatine phosphate may lower myocardial enzymes in serum in heart disease patients with hypothyroidism.
