Clinical effect evaluation of ITI implant-retained edentulous overdenture with ball-cap attachments |

Abstract Objective To study the clinical effect of implant-retained edentulous overdenture with ball-cap attachment. Methods Twenty-two edentulous overdentures each with 4 implants were retained with 4 ball-cap attachments. The effect of overdenture was followed up for about 4 years with X-rays and patients’ feeling. Results The percent rate of successful implants was 99% in total 88 implants.The distinct retention effect was seen in 19 cases (86%, P<0.001) and the effect of osseointergration in 12 cases(54%, P=0.001),the satisfaction, the appearance and the effect of voice of patients were about 1 or 2 cases (10%). Conclusion The clinical effects of overdentures retained with ball-cap attachment are good,reliable method especially for old patients with edentulous jaws.
