A study of CT multiplanar reconstruction with dacryocystography of the traumatic dacryocystitis |

Abstract Objective To study the examination method of multiplanar reconstruction CT with dacryocystography in traumatic dacryocystitis,and the characteristics of CT imaging with dacryocystography in traumatic dacryocystitis. Methods Multiplanar reconstruction CT with iodinated oil injection dacryocystography were used,and the results in 40 patients with traumatic dacryocystitis were analysed. Results The examination well showed the sizes of lacrimal sacs ,the relationship of the lacrimal sacs and nasolacrimal ducts,the position of the obstruction of lacrimal passage, and the injuries of the tissues around lacrimal ducts .The lacrimal sacs were displaced to forward and outside in 19 patients, the lacrimal sacs were displaced to the behind in 2 patiens. the sacs were expanded in 3 cases, the sacs were analosised in 5 cases,the nasolacrimal canal were fractured in 20 patients, stenosis of the nasolacrimal canal was found in 5 patients, the superior segments of the nasolacrimal canal were obstructed in 10 patients.36 patients had fractures of facial bone, and 8 patients had lesion of the nasal part. Conclusions The images of CT with dacryocystography in traumatic dacryocystitis were complicated and multiplex. Multiplanar reconstruction CT with lacrimal dacryocystography in traumatic dacryocystitis can clearly manifest the trauma of lacrimal passage and the injuries of the tissues around it.This method can be used to provide guidance for the operation.
