Medical Intervention in incidence of capture technique training injuries in a troop of Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces in Northern China |

Abstract Objective To observe the effectiveness of medical intervention in the incidence of capture technique training injuries in a troop of Chinese People’s Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in Northern China. Methods A training troop was chosen randomly and was treated with medical intervention. Investigation was carried out by questionnaire into the incidence of capture technique training injuries in one year before and after intervention. Then the data were compared by statistical analysis. Results Injuries in capture technique training were significantly influenced by medical intervention, with its incidence decreasing from 11.3 man-time/100 man year to 6.7 man-time/100 man year (P<0.01) and the percentage of main injury reasons decreasing from 40.7% to 24.1% (P<0.05). Conclusion Implementation of medical intervention can effectively reduce the incidence of injuries in capture technique training.
