Abstract Objective Investigated the expression of laminin gene in hepatitis B induced-hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC), both of the specificity of the expression. Method Objects were 215 patients of HBV induced-HCCwith cirrhosis in our hospital who had been in the liver transplantation operation from 2003/1 to 2013/5. We examined the expression of laminin in 215 cases of HCC and adjacent tissues by immunohistochemistry. As the normal controls were normal liver tissue and benign liver disease. Results Localization of laminin on hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cell (SEC) and neovascularization of the stromal tissue and membrane / plasma. The expression of the laminin postive on hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cell and neovascularization of the HCC tissues was 70.23%(151/215), with 57.20%(123/215) in cancer adjacent tissues, with 13.33%(3/30)in benign liver diseases tissues. The expression of laminin protein in tumour tissues was significantly higher than that in cancer adjacent tissues and benign liver diseases tissues (P=0.000). By clinicopathologic rank correlation analysis, the expression of laminin was associated with tumour microsatellite focal(P=0.026) ,tumor number(P=0.053) , vascular invasion(P=0.005)andTNM(P=0.029). Conclusion laminin expression at the protein levels was also observed in association with developing and metastasisof the hepatocellular carcinoma.
