Clinical effects of Wuling capsules combined with Shensong Yangxin capsules against arrhythmia and insomnia in senile patients |

Abstract Objective To observe the clinical effects of Wuling capsules combined with Shensong Yangxin capsules against senile arrhythmia complicated with insomnia.Methods Eighty-six elderly patients with arrhythmia and insomnia treated at our clinic between October 2018 and October 2019 were randomly divided into the control group (CG) and observation group (OG),with 43 cases in each.Patients in the CG group were given Shensong Yangxin capsules (4 capsules per time,tid) in addition to conventional treatment,while those in the OG group additionally took Wuling capsules (3 capsules per time,tid).The course of treatment lasted 30 days.The clinical efficacy,PSQI score,CGI score and the extent to which cardiac function was improved were compared between the two groups.Results The effective rate of OG was 97.67%,compared with 81.39% in CG,so the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,the PSQI scores were significantly lower in both groups,especially in OG,and the difference was also statistically significant (P<0.05).The CGI scores of both groups decreased after thirty days of treatment,but the difference was not statistically significant.Heart rate (HR),PR interval and QTc interval in OG were improved more significantly than in CG.There were no adverse reactions in either group.Conclusions Itis clear that Wuling capsules combined with Shensong Yangxin capsules have good clinical effect against arrhythmia complicated with insomnia by improving sleep quality,cardiac function,and the quality of life in senile patients.
