Analysis of combat casualty care skills of special operation soldiers |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the combat casualty care skills of the special operation soldiers of Chinese People’s Armed Police Force, so as to provide reference for carrying out future special skill training and optimizing combat casualty care training. Methods A total of 230 special operation soldiers randomly selected from the 2023 Special Operation Reconnaissance Training were included in the study. Their performance was evaluated with self-assessment questionnaire of combat casualty care skills and field assessment. Results Among the six practical skills of combat casualty care, the special operation soldiers performed the best in hemostasis(77.87±5.44), but the worst in ventilation(60.11±9.35). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the training experience and self-assessment of the soldiers were associated with the evaluation of their combat casualty care skills. Conclusions The combat casualty care skills of special operation soldiers need to be improved, and differentiated training strategies focusing on difficult subjects can be adopted to further improve their overall proficiency.
