Analysis of anterior cruciate ligament tear caused by military training injury |

Abstract Objective To investigate the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear caused by military training injury and to discuss the prevention plan.Methods Clinical and imaging data of 59 patients with ACL tear of knees caused by military training injuries admitted to Zhejiang Provincial Corps Hospital of Chinese People's Armed Police Force from January 2021 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. MRI manifestations of ACL tear were observed, and the causes of injuries and complications of injury were analyzed.Results The tringing subjects of injuries in 59 patients were as follows: horse vaulting training in 24 cases (40.68%), 400 meter obstacle in 21 cases (35.59%), long-distance training in 5 cases (8.47%), ball sports in 5 cases (8.47%), apparatus training in 2 cases (3.39%), combat in 1 case (1.69%), and climbing training in 1 case (1.69%). ACL tear in MRI images showed changes such as ligament swelling, increased signal, interrupted fiber continuity, retraction of the attached end, and anterior tibia, accompanied by meniscus injury, fracture, and medial and lateral collateral ligament injury. Among them, the incidence of fractures and the injury rate of medial and lateral collateral ligaments in the horse vaulting training group were higher than those in the obstacle training group and other training groups (P<0.05).The horse vaulting training group suffered the most severe combined injuries, and was more likely to suffer 3 kinds of combined injuries, namely ACL combined fracture, meniscus injury and medial and lateral collateral ligament injury. The obstacle training group was characterized by the second most combined injuries, and two kinds of combined injuries were more likely to occur.Conclusions Officers and soldiers should deepen their understanding of horse vaulting training and 400 m obstacle training, adopt gradual training methods, strengthen daily muscle training around the knee joint, set up a reasonable field and other measures to prevent the occurrence of ACL tear
