Abstract:Objective To study the effects of elevit and vitamin E on activities of antioxidase and GATA-3 in Hcy mice. Methods 50 ICR mice were randomly divided into five groups. Homocysteine was intraperitoneally injected into four groups of mice, and three groups of them received intraperitoneal injection of elevit, vitE, elevit+vitE. The control group received intraperitoneal injection of sodium chloride. Injections continued for 5 days, then the activities of GSH-PX and SOD and GATA-3 were detected. Results The activities of GSH-PX, SOD and GATA-3 in Hey group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01), The activities of GSH-PX, SOD and GATA-3 in elevit and vitE opposed groups were higher than those in Hey group (P<0.01). Conclusions Elevit and vitE can increase the ability of anti-oxidant and anti-apoptosis through increasing the GATA-3 and the activities of GSH-PX and SOD.
