Using phloroglucinol in incubation period to promote the clinical effect on cervical maturity

Abstract：Objective To study the clinical value of prophylactic use of phloroglucinol in the incubation period. Methods From February 2014 to November 2014, a total of 100 full-term pregnant, monocyesis and primigravid women were recruited as study group, after regular contractions developed, they were given phloroglucinol 80 mg intravenously every 2 hours, twice a day at most . At the same time another 100 pregnant women were recruited as control group; they did not receive any disposal and et the labor naturally progress. Between two groups, the first, second and third stages of labor time, number of patients with cervix edema, transter number of cesarean section, 2 h bleeding roluml after delivery, neonatal Apgar score were compared. Results The first stage of labor in the study group was shortened obviously, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).The second and third stages of labor had no statistically significant difference (P<0.05).the cervix edema developed in 4 cases in the study group , 16 cases in the control group, the difference was statistically significant. In the study group and control group, 16 cases and 29 cases failed and turned to cesarean section; the difference was significant between the two groups (P<0.05). 2 h postpartum blood loss and neonatal Apgar score between the two groups were to significantly different. Conclusion Phloroglucinol as a safe spasmolytic medicine, also can be applied to the early clinical stage for prevention.This study confirmed that preventive use of phloroglucinol in the incubation period can effectively reduce the incidence rate of cervix edema, shorten the first stage of labor and reduce cesarean delivery rate; and has no adverse effect on mother and fetus.
