Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of dentine porcelain and glaze on relative translucency of A, D color IPS e.max LT core material. Methods 160 disc-shaped base material IPS e.max LT samples with thickness of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm were made, and divided to 8 groups by color number A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, D2, D3, D4, n=5. Same color dentin porcelain was decorated in surface, with thickness of 0.3 mm. Finally, all samples were glazed and sintered. Relative translucency was determined with spectral colorimeter after glazing and sintering, and statistically analyzed. Results Effect analysis Results of A color samples showed that both thickness and glaze were significant factors on relative translucency (P<0.001), and there was interaction between them (P<0.001). Effect analysis Results of D color samples showed that both thickness and glaze were significant factors on relative translucency (P<0.001), and there was no interaction between them (P=0.472). Color series was not a relevant factor for relative translucency (P=0.153 and 0.525). There was no interaction between color series and thickness, between color series and glaze. There was no interaction among the three factors. Conclusions Decoration, glaze are important impact factors with a greater on relative translucency of A, D color IPS e.max LT core material, so that positive attention should be given in clinical practice.
