Abstract:Objective To investigate the safety and feasibility of focused ultrasound ablation surgery(FUAS) combined with ultrasound-guided curettage in the treatment of type Ⅱ cesarean scar pregnancy(CSP).Methods Thirty-six patients diagnosed withtype Ⅱ CSP were enrolled in this study, who received FUAS treatment followed by ultrasound-guided uterine curettage 1 to 3 days later. The intraoperative conditions, complications, blood lossduring suction curettage, time taken for β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) to return to normal, and time taken by menstruation recovery were recorded. Results After the treatment with FUAS, the blood flow of scars around the gestational sac disappeared in all of these patients without any serious complications. The median volume of intraoperative blood loss was 30 ml.The average time taken for blood β-hCG to return to normal was 20.8 days and the average time taken by menstruation recovery was 31.4 days. Conclusions FUAS combined with ultrasound-guided curettageis a safe and effective method for patients with Type Ⅱ CSP.
