Comparison of the effects of roxithromycin and dirithromycin on chronic sinusitis in cold areas

Abstract:Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of roxithromycin and dirithromycin against chronic sinusitis in cold regions.Methods Sixty-eight patients with chronic sinusitis in cold regions were divided according to the Methods of medication. The control group was treated with roxithromycin while the observation group was treated with erythromycin. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate in the observation group and control group was 91.8% and 85.29% respectively. The rate of adverse reactions in the observation group and control group was 11.11% and 2.78% respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05) .After treatment, the subjective symptom scores and sinus CT scores of nasal obstruction, head and face discomfort, olfactory disturbance in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions Compared with roxithromycin, dirithromycin can significantly improve the symptoms of patients with chronic sinusitis in cold regions, and it is more user-friendly and safer.
