Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of a new type of cryogenic intravenous infusion device on patients with central hyperthermia. Methods The patients with central hyperthermia hospitalized in Characteristics Medical Center of Chinese People's Armed Police Force from January to October of 2022 were divided into instrumental group (35 cases) and control group (35 cases) by the willingness of patients or the families whether to use the new cryogenic intravenous infusion device or not. The control group was given routinely intravenous infusion of 4 ℃ liquid, while the instrumental group was given intravenous infusion of 4 ℃ liquid by the cryogenic intravenous infusion device. The patient's body temperature was dynamically monitored, and the cooling was stopped when the body temperature dropped to 38 ℃. The time required for the body temperature drop to 38 ℃, the cooling efficiency and the occurrence of adverse reactions between the two groups were compared. Results The time required for the body temperature drop to 38 ℃ in the control group (6.44±0.77 h) was significantly higher than that (4.47±0.84 h) in the instrumental group (P<0.05), and the effective cooling rate of the control group (57.14%) was also significantly lower than that (82.86%) of the instrumental group (P<0.05).The occurrence of adverse reactions in the instrumental group was 22.86%, which was significantly lower than 48.57% of the instrumental group (P<0.05).There was no significant difference of the incidences of arrhythmia, coagulation abnormality and skin frostbite between two groups, but the incidence of chills in the instrumental group was only 2.86%, which was significantly lower than 22.86% in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions The new cryogenic intravenous infusion device is characterized by faster cooling speed, better efficiency, and less adverse reactions for patients with central hyperthermia.
