Abstract:Objective To analyze the importance of preoperative examination of femtosecond laser in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) for myopia and myopic astigmatism. Methods 7963 eyes of 4000 patients with myopia and myopic astigmatism were chosen before FS-LASIK. Results of preoperative examinations of these patients and the findings of one-year follow-up were analyzed. Results The steep keratometry (Ks) of 68 patients was more than 46.00 D, and that of 100 patients was lower than 40.00 D. The central corneal thickness (CCT) of 750 patients was lower than 470 μm. The intraocular pressure (IOP) of 16 patients was higher than 21 mmHg, but early analysis of the optic nerve fiber layer was normal. Retinopathy was found in 870 patients, among whom there were 826 cases of retinal degeneration, 40 cases of retinal tear, and 14 cases of detachment. The refraction diopter of 1450 patients was high myopia (spherical equivalent>-6.00 D). During the follow-up of 1 year, no related complications of new retinopathy, glaucoma or keratoconus were found. Conclusions Preoperative examination is very important for femtosecond LASIK surgery, which can prevent the occurrence of postoperative complications, improve the safety of refractive surgery and the effect of postoperative treatment.
