Clinical characteristics of fever patients in Beijing Tiantan Hospital

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical treatment of fever patients in Beijing Tiantan Hospital and provide reference for rational diagnosis and treatment of fever patients.Methods A total of 1288 cases of fever patients treated in Beijing Tiantan Hospital between January 2017 and February 2017 were selected as subjects, and the survey method of summary statistics was used. Information about the gender, age, severity of fever, duration of fever and etiology of these patients was statistically analyzed.Results There were more male outpatients of fever than female ones. Most cases of fever were moderate, accounting for 78.8% of the total. There was statistically significant difference between the moderate fever group and other fever groups (P<0.01).The main cause was respiratory infections, accounting for 67.2% of the total. There was statistically significant difference between the acute respiratory infection group and other cause groups (P<0.01). The age of most of these patients ranged from 50 and 60 years old, accounting for 36.6% of the total. There was statistically significant difference between the 50-60-year-old group and other age groups (P<0.05).The patients received treatment mostly after an interval of 12 to 24 hours, accounting for 46.8%.Conclusions The fever clinic plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of fever patients, and the distribution of fever patients is somewhat regular.
