Abstract Objective To observe the effects of IPS e.max Press ceramic crown on the periodontal tissue of the prosthetic teeth. Methods 79 clinical patients(107 anterior teeth)were selected to receive prosthesis with IPS e.max press ceramic crown ,and before and 6 months after prothesis, the weight of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) was measured and the level of interferon-γ(IFN-γ),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in GCF was checked by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the result was analyzed. Results The weight of GCF,the level of IFN-γ,TNF-α,MMP-2 in GCF after prosthesis had no statistically significant difference with those before prosthesis (P>0.05). Conclusions IPS e.max press ceramic crown has no significant negative influence on gingival health of the restored teeth. And it is a kind of restoration with favorable biocompatibility.
