Effect of flagellum protein derivative CZLC331 on the depressive behavior of mice with ulcerative colitis |

Abstract Objective To study the effect of flagellum protein derivative CZLC331 on the depressive behavior of mice with ulcerative colitis. Methods UC mice model was established by TNBS enema. Eighteen SPF male Balb/c mice were randomly and equally divided into the control group, UC model group, and CZLC331 treatment group, six mice in each group. Mice depression index was observed by forced swimming test, tail suspension experiment and sugar water consumption experiment. Results For the forced swimming test and tail suspension test, the immobility time in treated mice [(64.7±10.4)s,(62.5±13.9)s]was significantly lower than in the model group[(86.7±16.0)s,(111.3±41.1)s], and significantly higher than in the control group[(21.0±5.3)s,(16.0±8.3)s]. In sugar water consumption experiment, the percentage of sucrose preference in treated mice (66.5±7.3)% was significantly higher than in model group(34.5±4.6)%, and significantly lower than in the control group(77.2±7.7)%. Conclusions CZLC331 can effectively improve the level of depression in mice with ulcerative colitis.
