Establishment of a subordinate warehouse against severe respiratory infectious diseases |

Abstract Objective To implement delicacy management of medical supplies in case of emergent respiratory infectious diseases, and ensure the tracebility of such medical supplies as drugs and consumables after treatment.Methods Based on guidelines for the treatment of emergent respiratory infectious diseases and the characteristics of supply of drugs and consumables, and according to the deployment of staff in clinical departments, the inventory baseline of medical materials was formulated, and a subordinate warehouse of medical supplies for the management and maintenance of clinical departments was established.Results The establishment of a subordinate warehouse in clinical departments could lower the frequency at which medical supplies were claimed by departments, reduce the intensity of drug allocation by pharmacists in the central pharmacy and the workload of other medical staffs, and improve the accuracy of pricing and clinician’s instructions.Conclusions The establishment of a subordinate warehouse of medical supplies is practical and user-friendly. By virtue of the information system, it can effectively reduce the physical consumption of the medical staff, improve the delicacy management in the process of epidemic prevention and control, and facilitate the inspection of purchase, sales and storage of supplies at any time.
