| Results of HLA-B27 detection in 430 recruits of People’s Armed Police Force |

Abstract Objective To investigate the significance of testing HLA-B27 in army recruits.Methods HLA-B27 antigen was detected in 430 recruits of Armed Police Force using flow cytometry. The positive rate was compared with that of the local populations.Results Flow cytometry detection showed that there were 23 positive cases in the 430 recruits, with a positive rate of 5.35%. Compared with healthy populations in Huainan of Anhui, Handan of Hebei, Dazhou of Sichuan, Guangzhou of Guangdong, and Quanzhou of Fujian, the positive rate was not significantly different (P>0.05).Conclusion Detection of HLA-B27 antigen in recruits and observing whether military training is more likely to induce ankylosing spondylitis in HLA-B27 positive soldiers will help reduce non-combat injuries and enhance the combat effectiveness of troops.
