Abstract:Objective To observe the features and association between non alcoholic fatty liver and serum uric acid (UA) and other metabolic dysfuntions in senile patients. Methods A total of 268 patients, with an average age of (78.5?10.2)years, were divided into two groups: fatty liver (FLD) group and non fatty liver group. The association of UA and other metabolic dysfuntions between the two groups was analyzed. Results The levels of UA with FLD(408.32?65.43)mmol/L were significantly higher in fatty liver group than those non fatty liver group(329.79?87.99)mmol/L. (P<0.05). Levels of coronary heart disease with FLD(66.2%)was significantly higher than those in non fatty liver group(39.1%)(P<0.05). Patients with FLD had higher body mass index (BMI), higher glutamate-pyruvate transaminase (GPT), higher blood glucose, higher triglyeride han patients with non fatty liver (all P<0.05), lower hemoglobin than patients with non fatty liver (P<0.05). Logistic regression with FLD as the dependent variables showed that coronary heart disease was positively correlated with FLD, smoking, high UA, GPT and low hemoglobin (all P<0.05). Conclusions Coronary heart disease is closely associated with FLD. Patients with FLD is correlated positively to UA, diabetes mellitus, high triglyeride and coronary heart disease and low hemoglobin.
