Abstract:Objective To study the expressions of CRKL and Ki67 proteins in esophageal cancer and the correlation between expression and clinicopathological features. Methods Immunohistochemistry streptavidin peroxidase (SP) was designed to detect the expression of CRKL and Ki67 proteins in 60 cases of esophageal cancer tissues and 56 cases of nomally adjacent tissues. Results The positive rate of CRKL protein expression in esophageal cancer tissues and nomal controls were 56.7%(34/60)and 5.4%(3/56), respectively; there was significant difference between them(P<0.01).The expression of CRKL protein in esophageal cancer had obvious correlations with degree of differentiation (P=0.027), TMN stages (P=0.029), depth of invasion (P=0.049)and lymphatic matastasis of tumor (P=0.012);and had no correlations with age and sex of patients, size and location of tumor(P>0.05).The positive rates of Ki67 protein in esophageal cancer tissues and nomal controls were 68.3%(41/60) and 9.1%(5/56), respectively;there was significant difference between them(P<0.01). The expression of Ki67 protein in esophageal cancer had obvious correlation with TMN stages (P=0.006)and lymphatic matastasis of tumor (P=0.028); and had no correlation with age, sex, degree of differentiation, depth of invasion, size and location of tumor(P>0.05).The expression of CRKL protein had positive correlation with the expression of Ki67 protein in esophageal cancer tissue(r=0.352, P<0.01). Conclusions CRKL and Ki67 participate in the development process of esophageal cancer and it is advantageous to judge the malignant degree of tumor by detecting their expressions. CRKL can be clinical predictors of esophageal cancer and newly molecular target of clinical treatment.
