Abstract:Objective To study the significance of high sensitive Creactive protein (CRP) level in the course of development of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods Eighty-seven pregnant women were recruited and divided into normal glucose tolerance group (32 cases), gestational impaired glucose tolerance group (30 cases), and GDM group (32 cases). The levels of serum CRP in different groups were detected.60 healthy women who received physical examination during the same period were recruited as control group. Results There was no significant difference in the fasting blood glucose and CRP level between health control group and normal pregnancy group (P<0. 05). The fasting blood glucose and CRP level in gestational impaired glucose tolerance group and GDM group were significantly higher than those in normal pregnancy group (P<0. 05 ) . The fasting blood glucose and CRP level in GDM group were significantly higher than those in gestational impaired glucose tolerance group (P<0. 05) .Conclusions The increase of CRP level can predict the occurrence of GDM.
