Abstract:Objective To investigate the current knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP)regarding nutrition among the armed police force soldiers in order to guide the education on nutritional health in these soldiers. Methods A self-edited survey of KAP was conducted in 485 soldiers from Henan Armed Police Force. Results The awareness rate of dietary nutrition was low in soldiers at the grass-roots level. 92.5% of the soldiers believed in knowledge of nutrition, took a positive attitude toward nutrition, and were eager for knowledge of nutrition and willing to attend lectures on nutrition. However, the staple food for more than 90% of the soldiers was imbalanced. In addition, they had the bad habit of eating snacks all the time. Conclusions The armed police force soldiers lack knowledge of nutrition and have undesirable dietary habits. Health education of the soldiers should be strengthened to help them develop a positive attitude to nutrition and promote good dietary habits.
