Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of cetirizine hydrochloride combined with calcium gluconate and vitamin C in the treatment of acute or chronic urticaria. Methods One hundred and twenty patients with acute or chronic urticaria were treated with cetirizine hydrochloride, calcium gluconate and vitamin C. The therapeutic effect, rate of recurrence, clinical symptoms integral before and after treatment, immunoglobulin E (IgE), quality of life and adverse reactions were observed. Results The total effective rate was 95.00% in patients with acute or chronic urticaria, and the recurrence rate was 3.33%. IgE, the duration, number, diameter, appearance and frequency of onsets of wheals , the degree of pruritus, and scores of quality of life were all lower after treatment(P<0.05). There were no adverse reactions during the medication. Conclusions Cetirizine hydrochloride combined calcium gluconate and vitamin C in the treatment of acute or chronic urticaria is effective, which can mitigate clinical symptoms and reduce the serum concentration of IgE.
