Abstract:Objective To observe the difference in clinical effect between acupuncture and muscular motor point electrical stimulation for the treatment of post-stroke hand dysfunction. Methods A total of 60 patients were randomly divided into the acupuncture group and muscular motor point electrical stimulation group, with 30 cases in each.In addition to conventional treatment, one group was treated with acupuncture while the other was treated with acupuncture combined with muscular motor point electrical stimulation. Both groups were treated once a day for two weeks. The Brunnstrom level, Fugl-Meyer assessment and CSS were used to evaluate the changes in the two groups and compare the effect. Results After treatment, the level of Brunnstrom grading muscle strength, score of Fugl-Meyer assessment and CSS were improved significantly, especially in the muscular motor point electrical stimulation group. Conclusions Muscular motor point electrical stimulation and conventional acupuncture are both effective for the treatment of post-stroke hand dysfunction, but the former works better.
