Abstract:Objective To assess the clinical effect of CGF in preservation of the alveolar ridge and amelioration of postoperative responses after tooth extraction. Methods Such electronic databases as Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library , Wanfang, CJFD, VIP, CQVIP and CBM were searched. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane manual, and a meta-analysis was performed by using Revman 5.4.1.Results A total of 13 RCTs were included, 4 in English and 9 in Chinese. CGF could effectively reduce not only the height and width changes of the alveolar ridge after tooth extraction[MD=-1.67(-2.05,-1.29), P<0.05], but also the incidence of dry sockets after tooth extraction[OR=0.11 (0.03,0.38), P<0.05], but it could not effectively improve mouth opening after mandibular third molar extraction[MD=-0.27(-6.23, 1.89), P>0.05]. Based on qualitative analysis, the effect of CGF on improving the swelling of mandibular third molar after extraction was not clear, but it could alleviate the postoperative pain. Conclusions CGF has a good clinical effect in preserving the alveolar ridge and ameliorating postoperative responses after tooth extraction.
