Abstract Objective To study the development of health service simulation and modeling in U.S. Armed Forces, and implications for us. Methods This article analyzes the basic concepts, system framework, scientific study distribution, and focal areas of health service simulation and modeling in U.S. Armed Forces using intelligence investigation, bibliometric research, and knowledge mapping. Results U.S. health service simulation and modeling are maturing, the global impact of which is expanding. U.S. Air Force and Navy serve as the most important institutes for the related research, with some cooperation with British and Canadian Armed Forces. U.S. health service simulation and modeling focus on command and training fields. Conclusions We should learn from the successful experience of U.S. Armed Forces in our effort to build a standardized platform, enhance scientific research cooperation and settle pressing problems.
