Cardiovascular system health of the military on the plateau |

Abstract Objective To analyze the physical examination data of the Armed Police Force soliders garrisoned on the plateau, identify the population at higher risk of cardiovascular diseases, and to propose countermeasures.Methods After the collection of the physical examination data of 453 troops during June 2017, the impact of different ranks, units and the time spent on the plateau on the test indicators was explored.Results The main problems were sinus bradycardia and high hemoglobin, and the abnormal rate was 44.7% and 53.42%, respectively. The serum lipid level of officers was significantly higher than that of soldiers, and the abnormal rates of cholesterol and triglyceride were 9.46% and 18.92%, respectively. The abnormal rate of the drivers’ hemoglobin level was as high as 80.46%. The incidence of hypertension was 12.50% after six years on the plateau.Conclusions There are risks to cardiovascular fitness of the troops on the plateau, and targeted guidance and help should be provided by medical staff according to ranks, units and the length of stay on the plateau.
