Abstract Objective To compare the effects of rapid rehabilitation treatment and traditional rehabilitation treatment on the function of knee joints and motion recovery after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction for military personnel. Methods The clinical data on 102 military patients undergoing arthroscopic ACL reconstruction between June 2018 and June 2019 was retrospectively analyzed. These patients were divided into the rapid rehabilitation group (51 cases) and traditional rehabilitation group (51 cases). The visual analogue scale (VAS) score and Lysholm score were calculated before and after operation. The results of 30-meter snake running before injury, 8 and 12 months after operation were recorded to evaluate the function of knee joints, and the difference between the two groups was studied. Results There was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups at 2 days, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after operation (t=0.835, 0.361, 0.903, 0.758). But the Lysholm score of the rapid group was higher than that of the traditional group at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after operation (t=7.788, 6.973 and 4.582, P<0.05). The results of 30-meter snake running in the rapid group were better than those in the traditional group 8 months and 1 year after operation, and the difference was statistically significant (t=5.398, 2.429,P<0.05). During the last follow-up, there were no rehabilitation-related complications in either group. Conclusions The rapid rehabilitation treatment can promote recovery of knee joint function and shorten the recovery time of exercise levels in military patients after ACL reconstruction.
